Cheat’s Strawberry Tart

Strawberry tart

With the Puff Pastry I had left over from making Easy Chicken and Mushroom Pie, I decided not to waste it and made these delicious Strawberry Tarts. They take no time at all to assemble, the pastry just needs to be cooked first.

Ingredients

left over puff pastry

a little strawberry jam

1 carton ready made custard

4 large/ 8 small ripe strawberries, sliced

Method

  • Roll out the pastry into one large round or fill 4 small tart tins
  • Bake the pastry blind in the oven until lightly browned, approximately 20-30 minutes, allow to cool
  • Melt the jam for a few seconds in the microwave (not on full power or it will set!) and then brush onto the base of the tarts
  • Cover the tarts with the custard and then the slices of strawberries
  • Enjoy!
