Flowers and Vintage China

Just pretty...

I have a huge collection of vintage china and it is my pride and joy, I love the delicacy of the porcelain, the pretty patterns but also the incredible robustness, these pieces have survived many years! I am always looking for new ideas as to how to use my collection, I don’t just want it to sit on a shelf gathering dust (or in the garage as mine is, there’s so much of it!). I purchased some dwarf daffodil bulbs and planted them in teacups. They make a beautiful display:

Pinterest never fails to provide me with inspiration and I have found some lovely ideas to share with you:

Miniature roses in teacups look pretty grouped together.

A long line of grape hyacinths in matching cups and saucers makes a lovely table centrepiece.

Use a glass bell to keep bulbs warm and help them flower.

A glass cloche not only protects but can also help bulbs to open by providing a warm atmosphere.

A cup with a post glued to the bottom for a perch!

A vintage cup makes a pretty bird feeder, filled with a fat ball and a twig for a perch!

If you are feeling like a spot of DIY why not try making a light fitting (get it checked by an electrician) or buy a similar one on Etsy

Use teacups to make candles. You can buy candle making equipment on Ebay or Amazon.

Water in the cup..seeds on the saucer.

You can make your own teacup and saucer bird feeder by following my instructions….

Or why not try making your own Vintage China Cake Stand…..
