June

Nearly half way through the year, the longest day (June 21st) always makes me think of long, sultry evenings in the garden and hopefully some nice sunny weather! This month is all about the outside, pretty gardens, stylish summer clothes and beachwear, tasty barbecue and party food.

Please have a browse of the site, my latest posts are listed on the right. If there is something in particular you are looking for, why not get in touch? I’ll be glad to help…… Facebook and Twitter are the fastest and easiest way to contact me.

I love Lavender and can’t wait for my plants to flower, the smell is amazing and the bees love it! While browsing Pinterest I came across some gorgeous photos which epitomise summer for me. Also, I found some great craft ideas for harvested flower heads, get planting!

I love it when the High Street comes up with a version of a designer item and I think this Red Herring version of Temperley London SS13 is amazing, designer style at a high street price. Temperley London dress £1,150, Red Herring at Debenhams dress £45 (currently on sale at £33.75). Grab yourself a bargain! (Click the dress for the link).

It’s been a while since I updated this page, I have been busy supporting my daughter who has just competed in the BMC 2013 Youth Series final in Ratho, Edinburgh. I am so proud of her achievement, she only started climbing 8 months ago, so to be placed top 3 in the North West and then compete in the final is amazing. Prior to the competition we looked at “Carb Loading” to increase her energy stores and to give her the best chance on the day. You can read my post here.

I read recently that Johnson and Johnson, the household purveyor of baby products, admitted that formaldehyde is one of the ingredients they use, albeit in small amounts, shocking! It’s so important to read the labels on products but manufacturers are very clever at hiding chemicals, especially under the term “fragrance”. Read the full article here. Also read my post on natural skincare for some tips.
