Micellar Water

This product is currently taking the beauty product industry by storm. A firm favourite of make-up artists  (plus the French who have been using this for years apparently!) this intriguing liquid is colourless, odourless and the one I tried (L’Oreal) has only 7 ingredients!

Micellar Water is actually a suspension of microscopic oil within a liquid which is super efficient at removing make up. It is fantastic for sensitive skin as it does not need a concoction of ingredients to work, it harnesses the properties of suspended oil instead. My teenage daughter has been using it and has experienced no adverse reaction with her super sensitive skin. I’m sold!

There are many products out there (mainly French brands where Micellar Water originated) and lots more are hitting the shelves as the word spreads. I am super happy with the L’Oreal version as it has so few ingredients and is one of the cheapest out there!

L’Oreal says :- “Tested under dermatological and ophthalmological control. Suitable for all skin types – even sensitive.  3 in 1 purifying micellar solution is used by make-up artists, this solution feels as gentle as water on your skin but acts like a make-up remover, toner and skin soother all in one. Purifies and soothes, swiftly dissolving all traces of make-up, the ‘micellar’ solution acts like a purifying magnet on the skin’s surface to capture and draw out excess oil and impurities rather than spreading them around your face like some wipes can. So gentle, skin feels soothed and toned. Application and usage- apply using a cotton wool pad onto dry skin. Hold over the lashes, lids and lips for a few seconds then just sweep away. No need to rinse or rub. Use morning and evening.”

Amazon also sells pretty much every available brand, you can see them all here.

Let me know if you’ve tried it!
