November 2012

It’s November- time to get cosy!

The pleasures of autumn are upon us. The colours, tastes and textures of the season are celebrated on this page. The spectacular colours of the trees in every shade of red, brown and gold leaving behind shimmering stems when the leaves fall, a visual delight.

As the nights draw in, make the most of the long evenings by the fire and get creative, the “How To” page has some great ideas for projects.

Create a fabulous Larder Cupboard or buy one ready made to organise all your ingredients

Why not make a simple Heart Wreath out of willow (or any other bendy branches in your garden) to enjoy indoors.

As the days shorten, take pleasure in lighting the fire and cosying up with family and friends. Our Interiors section has lots of ideas for your home this autumn. Light candles, snuggle under cosy throws, make toast and crumpets smothered in butter.

Celebrate the autumn festivals with bonfires and fireworks, there are some lovely recipe ideas for autumnal comfort foods on the Food page. Create tasty Seasonal Soups  and warming finger foods followed by Toasted Marshmallows.

If you are having a bonfire night party or any other party then here is a great recipe for warming Sweet Potatoes and Barbecue Beans.

The party season is nearly upon us and it’s time to start thinking about outfits! I love the selection of cocktail dresses at House of Fraser, they have a fabulous range for all budgets. My tip, though, is to check out the Ebay House of Fraser outlet page, the reductions are amazing. They have a fantastic selection of stockists including, Vero Moda, Episode (saw one dress reduced from £160.00 to £22.80!), Gant, Untold, Dickins and Jones, Kenneth Cole, Lipsy and T Tahari.

On the subject of cocktail dresses, are you panicking about fitting into yours? If so, try the 7 day Juice Plan from Jason Vale, it really works.

Winter fashion has a distinctly glamorous feel as shown by You Magazine’s Bella Baroque photo shoot, click the link to see the rest of the photos, plus my pick of tops from Florence and Fred.
