This has to be one of the easiest dishes you can make, but it tastes so good! Smoked Mackerel Pate makes a wonderful starter, lunch or snack. Sometimes the simplest things really are the best! This is also a great way to increase your intake of oily fish and Omega 3.
Ingredients (serves 4):
1 pack 3 Smoked Mackerel fillets (skin removed)
100g creme fraiche
100g cream cheese
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp horseradish (optional)
salt (may not be needed!) and pepper to taste
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until combined, do not blend for too long as it’s nice to retain some texture. Alternatively, you can mash this together in a bowl with a fork to give a rougher texture. You could also add some herbs, dill works well.
