Storage and Decluttering Ideas

Storage and Decluttering Ideas

Party’s over, folks. It’s that time of year — now that the stockings have been taken down and the pine needles have been swept away, any excuse to hold off on decluttering your home is long gone. Take advantage of the new year and give your home a fresh start. We’ve compiled some of the best cleaning and organizing guides from Houzz, room by room, to help you start off the year with a clean slate.

It would be lovely to have a professionally designed closet or a spacious laundry room with a custom organizational system. But most of us are dealing with small spaces, limited funds and big imaginations.Oh, and stuff. Lots of stuff.

Here are 8 clever, cute and inexpensive ways to do so

Even the tidiest kitchen needs a little organizational inspiration from time to time. Go beyond basic decluttering this year and give your cooking space an extra boost of streamlined style. Whether you lack pantry space or can’t find a spot to store the dishes, Houzz has you covered. Take a look at these clever storage ideas — one may just help your kitchen run a bit more smoothly.

As a mother, I’m always on the lookout for solutions that will help ease the space and storage issues that come with raising a large family. With five children and two adults living under one roof, you can imagine how something simple like shoe storage can get out of hand.Around here we have a policy of no shoes in the house, which means the children promptly remove their shoes when coming through the door. And that, my friends, is the problem. The shoes are removed and left right where they stand, becoming a tripping hazard and, to be blunt, a nuisance.

While brainstorming solutions I decided to search the ideas of fellow Houzzers and was blown away by their ideas. You will be too. There are cubby wall units that dreams are made of, laundry baskets and modern shelves that are going to make you swoon. Let’s get started!
