Vintage China Bird Feeder

I found this idea on Pinterest and decided to share it here, I have a huge collection of vintage china so this is definitely something I am going to try!

Water in the cup..seeds on the saucer.

A gorgeous idea for using a vintage china teacup and saucer is to drill a hole through both and attach a galvanised hook.

You can buy a galvanised screw hook from Amazon:

To drill a hole through the cup and saucer you will need a ceramic drill bit and some patience, porcelain is very strong!  See my post on making a vintage china cake stand for more details on where to buy a drill bit and drilling tips.

Once you have successfully drilled the holes, assemble the cup and saucer by unscrewing the hook/eye, pushing the hook end through the cup and saucer (you may need some washers) and screwing the bits back together.

Put water in the cup and seeds in the saucer for a very pretty way to feed the birds in your garden.
